The sofa was made by hand. The site sold it like a toy.

Chair makes bent-wood sofas for couples in its own workshop in Ukraine. On desktop the old site was a stub; on the phone it opened with “Choose your sex sofa now!”

The client
One workshop, three models, and buyers as far as New Zealand
Chair has made sofas for couples since 2019: bent wood and eco-leather, by hand in Ukraine. Couples find it on Instagram; in Kyiv and Odesa they can sit on one.

What we were asked for
A new corporate site: an image for the brand, not a shop, that leads a visitor to a conversation with a manager.
Screens
Home, three model pages, the contact and 18+ video forms, the age check, thank-you, 404 and the privacy policy.
Platforms
Desktop and phone. The old site worked only on the phone; every new screen was drawn for both.
The ask, from the brief
“A new corporate site for Chair — the brand’s image, not an online store. It should show what the product is worth, take away the barriers to buying — price, shyness, size — and lead the visitor to a conversation with a manager.”
Couples found Chair on Instagram and came to the site to check it was serious. On desktop there was nothing to check.
The old site

Only the phone had a site, and it sold a toy

chair.in.ua on Weblium, before the redesign · captured September 2026
[ 01 ]
On desktop the whole site was one screen: “Site under construction. Only the mobile version works.”
[ 02 ]
The phone opened with “Choose your sex sofa now!” A couple checking whether this is furniture had their answer.
[ 03 ]
Bent wood, handwork and the 10-year warranty came after the positions and the orgasms.
chair.in.ua before the redesign. Left, all the desktop showed; right, the first screen on a phone.
Who buys
Two couples, one sofa
The brief names both: couples buying premium furniture for their home, and those who asked once and didn’t buy.
[ 01 ]
First visit
The couple who saw it on Instagram
Together for years, in their late thirties, with a good income. Saw a video and clicked through to find out what this is.
Comes for
A quick answer to “what is this”: real furniture, or another toy from the internet.
Stops at
A first screen that looks like an adult shop, and a price before anything explains it.
Answered by
“A sofa made for closeness” on bent wood, the 18+ video behind an age question, and the price “from” only after reviews and the workshop.
[ 02 ]
Asked before
The couple who asked and didn’t buy
Know the sofa and roughly what it costs. Something stopped them: where it would stand, what guests would say, whether it’s worth the money.
Comes for
An answer to the doubt that stopped them, without having to ask again.
Stops at
Having to write to someone to find out the size, the colours or the warranty.
Answered by
Size, weight and load on the model page, wood and leather colours as swatches, a 10-year warranty, and showrooms in Kyiv and Odesa.
The bet

Furniture first, and a conversation instead of a checkout.

[ 01 ]
Looks before explicitness. The sofa, the wood and the room lead; the 18+ video waits behind a question.
[ 02 ]
Value before price. Reviews, the workshop and the warranty come first; the price “from” comes after.
[ 03 ]
A person, not a cart. Every block ends in “Get a consultation”, with a time for the call.
Three rules from the journey map, five screens. Every change below is one of them applied.
Stage by stage
What a couple doubted, and what each screen answers
One block per screen, in the order a couple scrolls. Each carries what stood there before and what shipped in its place.
[ 01 ]
First screen
Before
On desktop, “Site under construction”. On the phone, “Choose your sex sofa now!” over a photo of a model on the sofa.
What we did, and why
“A sofa made for closeness”, bent wood that moves with the body, one button to choose a model. The 18+ video waits behind an age question: the map gives this screen three seconds to say furniture, not a toy.
[ 02 ]
What changes
Before
Five bullet points on positions, orgasms and angles, then two paragraphs about the Kama Sutra.
What we did, and why
Six things that change, one per slide: more positions, closer contact, less fatigue, and a piece of furniture for the room, by day and by night. A couple decides by recognising themselves, not by a list of features.
[ 03 ]
Proof
Before
Portraits of bloggers and 18+ models under “They trust us”, and no word from a couple who bought one.
What we did, and why
Four reviews from couples, the years, the warranty and the countries, then three models with a price “from”, then the workshop: bent wood, 300 kg, handwork. Trust comes before the price, where the map shows it drops.
[ 04 ]
Model page
Before
“Choose your sex sofa now!”, a price and an “Order” button; size and colours in paragraphs under a −25% banner.
What we did, and why
“Choose Elegant” instead of “Order”, weight, load and size as three figures, wood and eco-leather colours as swatches, and the model’s video behind the same age question.
[ 05 ]
Consultation
Before
“Order”, “Leave a request”, and a manager with a messenger link near the end of the page.
What we did, and why
“Get a consultation” in the header and after every block: a name, a phone and a preferred way to talk, and a call within 7 minutes. No button on the site says “buy”.
Screens 04 and 05 carry the decision. Both are below, before and after.
FIRST STEP · THE AUDIT

Stop guessing which screen costs you sales

We start from your analytics, not from taste: find the screen where people leave, rebuild it, and measure orders before and after. If we’re not the right team for it, we say so in the first reply.

Stage 04 · Model page
“Choose your sex sofa now!”, a price, and “Order”
Size, weight and colours were all there, in paragraphs under a sale banner. The main button on the page said “Order”.
Before
The old Elegant page on a phone: the model, the price block with “Order”, then size and colours as two paragraphs above a −25% banner.
After

Both couples
[ 1 ]
“Choose”, not “Order”
The button opens a consultation, not a cart. At this price a couple wants a person to talk to, not a checkout.
Asked before
[ 2 ]
Size as three figures
33 kg, 300 kg and 185 × 85 × 45 cm, side by side. They answer “where would it stand” before anyone has to ask.
First visit
[ 3 ]
Colours as swatches
Beech, alder, cherry, oak and the eco-leather palette, with a slot for “your colour”. The sofa is chosen like furniture for a room.
What we left out
The sale banner and “Choose your sex sofa now!”. Both sell a toy on discount; the page now sells a piece of furniture.
Stage 05 · Consultation
“Order”, “Leave a request”, and a manager at the very bottom
The old site had a person to talk to — a manager with her name and a “write to a messenger” link — after everything else on the page.
Before
The old home page on a phone: “18+ video” and “Catalogue”, then “Leave a request”, then the manager and three messenger icons near the end.
After
1
2
3
Both couples
[ 1 ]
Two ways out of every block
“Get a consultation” for those who have decided, “See the models” for those who haven’t, and messengers right under them.
First visit
[ 2 ]
Only the phone is required
A name, a phone and a preferred way to talk. The couple picks where the first contact happens.
Asked before
[ 3 ]
A time, not a silence
“We’ll call within 7 minutes” on the form and again on the thank-you page, at the moment the map calls the most vulnerable.
What we left out
A cart and a checkout. The site map keeps them for later; this build sells through a conversation.

The sofas did not change. The site now sells them as furniture.

What changed
The home page, three model pages and the way to ask. Each screen answers one doubt from the journey map, in the order the doubts come.
What we left alone
The three models, the prices and the photo shoot. We chose which photo answers which question.
What we would do next
The configurator and a page for partners, both on the site map for a later round. The configurator turns model, colours and extras into four steps that end in the same consultation.
